A thread for literature we enjoy/recommend, fiction or non-fiction.
These happen to be non-fiction but you can't beat the Longmire series either.
Recently completed Lawrence in Arabia by Scott Anderson. A good read regarding Lawrence and the history of the Middle East. Really slows down middle of the book, overall quite interesting and well written.
Arrived and going through Panzer Tactics: German Small-Unit Armor Tactics by Wolfgang Schneider. Interesting how command believed dragging a tree behind the tank would be a good way to mask the trail (actual historic diagram). Wonder if that actually works, thinking not, but perhaps depending on terrain?
Ordered: Warsaw 1920: Lenin's Failed Conquest of Europe by Adam Zamoyski. Apparently a well written book on Lenin's plan to invade Poland and several other countries. Poland became aware of the plan and attacked first.
Also ordered: Invisible Armies: An Epic History of Guerrilla Warfare from Ancient Times to Present by Max Boot. Name is descriptive....
